10 Things To Do In Minneapolis

by Jason Sandquist on September 9, 2009

In no particular order:

  1. Lakes, lakes and lakes! Minneapolis is not known as the “City of Lakes” for nothing. Enjoy miles of walking and bike paths around the Lake Calhoun, Lake Nokomis and Lake of the Isles just to name a few.
  2. Catch a show at the world renowned Guthrie Theater
  3. Eats! Minneapolis is fast becoming a destination (if not there already)Ā  for fine culinary dining. Enjoy some excellent restaurants such as La Belle Vie, 112 Eatery or Solera to name a few.
  4. Visit the Walker Art Center or the outdoor sculpture garden
  5. Summer festivals such The Aquatennial, Basilica Block Party or the many art festivals.
  6. Visit St. Anthony Main… sit outside at Vic’s or Tugg’s then catch a movie at St. Anthony Main Theater or visit the falls.
  7. Get a history lesson on Minneapolis at the Mill City Museum
  8. Run around the skyway system, yeah it get’s cold in the winter… no need to be outside.
  9. Minneapolis has over 170 parks, there has to be some sort of activity to do there.
  10. Catch a sporting event. Minneapolis is home to a few professional sports teams. Catch a Vikings game at the Metrodome, the Twins at outdoor Target Field (throwing this in for 2010) or Timberwolves at Target Center. Watch the Minnesota Gophers at TCF Stadium, Williams Arena or Mariucci Arena.

I don’t think 10 does this list justice, add to the list below for your own recommendations!
